Productivity at Multi Metals has been boosted by investment in a Danobat high speed horizontal bandsaw and Tyro plate saw, both supplied by sawing technology specialists, Prosaw. "In just one day we cut 8 tonnes of aluminium plate, a task that would have previously taken us over a week using our older machines".
With a capacity of 8m x 2.5m x 600mm deep and weighing 66 tonne, the Prosaw Danobat VLTA bandsaw supplied to British Aluminium Plate, is believed to be the largest machine of its type in the world. In spite of its size, it cuts aluminium plate to an accuracy of less than 1mm, and is also highly productive being able to automatically machine all four sides of a plate.
A Prosaw automatic bandsaw is bringing significant production and quality benefits to Northern Hydraulics, the largest manufacturer of hydraulic cylinders in Northern Ireland. Prosaw installed their Danobat CPS440A at the Coalisland factory.
