Open House Success!

1st Nov 2023

On October 17th – 19th Prosaw Opened its doors for a special Anniversary Event to mark 60 years of business.

Over the 3 days more than 50 different companies atended to discover a litle more about our history and view the large range of machines which were on display in our showroom.

Amongst the more than 30 models on display were 5 new additons to the range and all having their UK debut. This included the high production GT-HS615C bandsaw, which drew a lot of attention.

Gentiger GT-HS615C

The machine comes from one of the world's largest machine tool manufacturing countries Taiwan and has been designed by the award-winning company Gentiger. Customers were amazed not just at the production rates but the smoothness and rigidity whilst cutting. This removal of vibration will greatly increase the blade life when compared with other machines in the market. We are confident when more get to see the machine in production, it will become a market leader for cutting high value alloys.

Also on display were two NEW machines from the Turkish manufacturer Karmetal. Firstly, their Vortex 150 Carbide Circular Saw, designed for high production cutting of carbon steel bars up to 150mm diameter. Whilst the technology has been around for some years now, the Karmetal approach was not to simply follow the crowd and copy existing machines in the market, but to develop and improve the rigidity of the machine and the blade. Visitors observed first hand some of the advantages the Vortex offers which is designed to greatly improve blade life and lower running costs.

Karmetal Vortex 150

When processing above 150mm diameter carbon steel, the cost of high production cutting with circular saws comes at a greater price both for the machine but also the tooling. With this in mind, the second machine that Karmetal have brought to the UK market is their High Performance Ultra 300x300 which is a uniquely designed machine for fast cutting of steels using a band speed of up 400m/min. Using Carbide Blades, the machine is capable of cutting in multiple modes from Normal through to Ultra. When in its highest performance setting, the machine is able to cut at comparable rates to circular saws and still achieve excellent surface finish and accuracy on cut length.

Both machines will remain in our showroom for further cutting trials and demonstrations for customers.

GEKA were represented by their Sales Director, Javier Gomez, who was pleased to introduce visitors to their NEW GCS-P3015 Flatbed Plasma machine. Known for manufacturing the worlds number one hydraulic steelworker, GEKA began developing their plasma machine around 3 years ago with the intention of adding this to their growing range of CNC equipment. Although regarded as an entry level machine, it has been designed using the very latest know how and world leading components. Machines start from a 2 Metre x 1 Metre bed size and grow up to the largest size of 8 Metre x 2 Metre.
